The History of American Graffiti Book
The History of American Graffiti Book published in 2010 is now available on FAB ! THE HISTORY OF AMERICAN GRAFFITI (Harper Design; April 2010) is the definitive story behind the most explosive and influential art form of the last one hundred years. Unprecedented in scope, the book traces the evolution of the movement from its early freight train days to its big-city boom on the streets of New York City and Philadelphia to its modern-day influences. Featuring interviews with more than five hundred key artists and exclusive behind-the-scenes stories gleaned from over four-years’ worth of interviews.
It is an honor to have Aerosol Warfare founders GONZO and MERGE listed alongside other old-school graffiti artists such as TAKI 183, IZ THE WIZ, SANE AND SMITH, Barry “TWIST” McGee to REVOK. Although, Houston did not get highlighted as a major City and the authors condensed all of the Texas cities into one chapter titled, Texas; it leaves room for yet more books in the making for major Texas Cities and for artists here to tell a more in-depth story to another person who is qualified and willing to work with artists on that level. The book is a great buy, gives you bullet point history, photos and we are grateful that the authors recognized our founders individual contributions and history in the the graff scene.

Once again, It was ON at Discovery Green for the 5th annual Magnificent 7 ice sculpting competition sponsored by NUERO! Despite the rain, the crowds gathered to watch 7 of America’s top ice sculptors Slice & Dice tons of Ice! We all had a great time as DJ Caps One ripped the turntables providing the audio bliss. GONZO247 served as co-host of the event and MC for the day. The ice carvers brought their A-Game and wowed the crowds with some award winning sculptures! The day was filled with lots of excitement, especially when one of the sculptures (A 13 foot tall crucifix) came crashing down minutes before judging! Red Bull Thre3Style Massive Houston 12/21
GONZO247 provided a killer backdrop for Houston’s Red Bull Thre3style Massive event on December 21st 2012. Red Bull Thre3Style Massive is an extension of Red Bull Thre3Style, and celebrates the backbone of the competition – the high energy DJs themselves. The Red Bull Thre3Style Massive stage showcases some of the top musical talent such as A-Trak, Toy Selectah & RL Grime. The back drop GONZO247 completed ended up covering 15 feet x 40 feet of wall space inside Stereo Live Houston Venue. Artist JOJO of SBK Life also came through and helped GONZO knock the wall out in only 48 hours!

GONZO247 of Aerosol Warfare x Art Basel Miami 2012
Aerosol Warfare took a trip down to Miami for the phenomena known as Art Basel week. This annual event literally consumes the city! From the official art conference in Miami’s convention center to all the other art expos that are happening at the same time; Pop-up shops, the street art Mecca in the Wynwood District and gallery openings galore! With more art than you can possibly see in 4 days, we had to come up with a battle plan! We spent a good portion of our time checking out the amazing works of art on the walls in the Wynwood Art District and at The Wynwood Walls. It was like a whose who of street artists with names such as: Os Gemeos, Dabs & Myla, Estria, Futura, Cope2, Obey, Retna, Ron English, D-Face (Just to name a Few)! There was such an international presence as well, with many great artists flying in from Australia, Spain, Germany and beyond. Along with the inspiring art we saw, we also met up with a great crew of people like Bomit, Rome, and Teddy from The Go Shop! It was a great week in Miami but the icing on the cake was having the impromptu opportunity to rock a huge wall in the Wynwood District. GONZO247 was fortunate to have a business owner give him the entire side of his business to create! It thrills us to be able to experience art events like these and bring the inspiration and energy back to our hometown Houston! Check out a full recap of pictures on our facebook page and a couple below! Join us this year for Art Basel Miami 2013 for sure!
